I was a fast talker. In 7th grade, one of my teachers announced to my entire class that “Ellyn Wulfe had a mouth like a blender on high speed.” Even my grandmother pleaded with me constantly to “slow down, I can’t keep up.”
My impetus to change my ways came in Middle School. I wanted to compete in public speaking tournaments and knew I needed to slow it way down to succeed. It took a lot of work, but I became a reformed fast talker.
